Rajasthan

Rajasthan is the most colorful and traditional state of India. Being famous for its rich history and marvelous forts, Rajasthan is the most popular tourist destination. Majority of the Indian travel companies or Indian travel package tours include Rajasthan. Here you'll get the chance of walking down the palaces and forts where the erstwhile warriors and kings had stayed. Also you'll encounter a rich culture replete with folk dances, strains of music on the traditional instruments and mouth-watering cuisine. Talking about its attraction, then Jaipur is one city which attracts you the most. Jaipur is the capital city of Rajasthan is also known as Pink City. This city is the home for many forts and palaces; this is the reason why it is also known as land of forts and palaces. The prime attraction of Jaipur is the City Palace. This palace has got seven gates and also houses the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum, found in 1959. 

The museum displays the ancestral collections of the kings such as arms and weaponry, arts and crafts, antiques and costumes. Apart from that there is Jaigarh Fort built atop a hill. This fort is also known as the fort of victory and gives you the marvelous view of Jaipur and the Amber Fort. If you think only forts are Jaipur's highlight then you're wrong as this place is also a shopper's delight. Herein you get the chance to shop wide range of goods such as antiques, quilts, designer wear, handicrafts and colorful fabrics with bandhini prints and tie and dye. After moving ahead the next halt is at Jodhpur. Being the second largest city of Rajasthan, you simply can't afford to miss this vibrant city. And once you are in then the first place you'll visit is historic Fort of Mehrangarh. This majestic fort overlooks the city of Jodhpur and showcases some of the massive buildings, palaces and museums. Here you get the chance to see the most exquisite and rare works of arts, artifacts and textiles. 

If your tryst with these beautiful palaces doesn't end here, then Udaipur is also there for you. This city is the home for splendidly designed City Palace and Lake Palace. And same can be said for its adjoining city Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer is another Rajasthan city built in historic times. The city is famous for the Jaisalmer Fort, built in 12th century. This towering fort houses a number of shops, temples and homes. After climbing at the top of the fort you get chance to witness the beautiful views of the golden city and also not to mention the array of splendid havelis. Being the historical city, this city also has the endless rounds of festivals. Some of the famous festivals are Pushkar fair, Teej Festival, Desert Festival, Marwar Festival, Elephant Festival and Gangaur Festival. Here each festival is celebrated by dressing up and showing up in finery, women in colorful traditional dresses and men in turbans, folk dances and music, puppetry and many other cultural events
